Oxtounge Rapids / Falls

This has to be one of the most amazing destinations in Muskoka. The rapids and falls are absolutely breath taking. You can get up close and personal with the falls which makes the experience even more great. Make sure to use caution while walking along the trail to the falls. The trail follows the shoreline of a fast moving river which has many jagged rocks and steep slopes toward the water. If you visit this location, I promise that you will not be disappointed. It is a place of tranquility and relaxation.

Lions Lookout is a 1.5km trail that is located in the heart of Huntsville ON. It can be found behind the Canada Summit Centre where the 36th G8 Summit was held. The trail follows along the Muskoka River all the way to Fairy Lake. The trail will cross the Portage Flyer railway which is followed by a steep incline to the top of the sports track. Once you are at the highest point of the trail, you can take in some beautiful and stunning views of Downtown Huntsville and Fairy Lake.

Arrowhead is a smaller provincial park that’s located in Huntsville ON. The entire park is quite beautiful and enjoyable, but there is one specific trail & waterfall that stands out. Stubb’s Falls is a 2.6km trail that nearly begins and ends at Stubb’s Falls. Stubb’s Falls is where the Little East River rushes down a rock chute creating some stunning landscapes and photo opportunities.

Hunters Bay Trail is about 4.6km in length and is good for walking, running, or cycling. Sections of the trail are floating docks that cut across portions of Hunters Bay and allow visitors to take in the beauty of the bay and the active apple orchard. This trail also cuts through some local parks where you can relax alone or with friends.

Algonquin Park is a very popular park, not just in Ontario, but throughout Canada. It is home to several popular animals and species, including the great Canadian Moose. There are several trails all along Hwy 60 which is the only road through the park from east to west. Some of the trails include: Track & Tower Trail (7.5km trail with a lookout), Beaver Pond Trail (2.5km trail with wildlife), and The Lookout Trail (2km trail with stunning view over Algonquin Park). If you visit Algonquin Park, you are almost guarenteed to see some stunning landscapes and some beautiful wildlife

Lions Head

Lions Head is situated in a secret nook on the famous Bruce Peninsula. It is a little town perfect for people who are looking to forget about the rest of the world. There are many things to do such as swimming in the crystal clear waters, walking along the pebble beaches, hiking along many of the scenic trails and taking in many of the natural attractions.

This can be a very popular place during the summer. I would recommend visiting Lions Head during the Spring or Fall; there is less people visiting during this time of year.

Aside from everything I’ve mentioned so far, Lions Head is home to many fantastic restaurants and cafes. There are lots of local shop owners that are open all year round and eager for your business.

If you’re fortunate enough to find a place to stay in the area, it will surely be a trip to remember.

Georgian Bay

These pictures were taken out on Georgian Bay, Ontario. Lots of people spend there summers out on the water travelling around to different bays and islands. There is a boat tour that you can take from Midland, Ontario called the “30,000 Island Tour”. The 30,000 islands of Georgian Bay represent the largest concentration of freshwater islands in the world. It’s so much fun to stop off at any of these islands and go for a swim or sun bath. Not to mention the water is crystal clear and extremely cold, but totally worth it.

Fort De Soto Park

These pictures were taken at Fort De Soto Park in Florida USA. There is a small fee to enter the park for the day, but it is totally worth it. The park is filled with history and gorgeous beaches for sun bathing or shelling.
